Overclocking:
I had it POST at 2.3GHZ, but doubt it would have been stable.
Finally settled on setting FSB at 666, which sets CPU @ 2ghz.
This let me set the memory to exactly 1200mhz, which I've found to be the highest this MB will go for memory.I had it stable at 2.13GHZ, but could only set memory at 1185ghz or so.Pros:

-N Wifi works great, better even than my previous full size Rosewill N Card

-Integrated bluetooth picks up my Logitech Dinovo keyboard

-plays my HULU, Netflix, and h.264 files just great (having installed Flash 10.1 RC)

-takes DDR3 memory, which uses less power and is now cheaper than DDR2.

-Win 7 seems snappy enough at 1.6ghz, but easily overclockable to 2.0ghz.I had it stable at 2.13Ghz, but I couldn' set the memory to 1200mhz.

-Comes with Laptop power adapter and the molex adapter that plugs into the MB can power 3 Sata devices, which GREATLY reduces wire clutter

Cons:

Hotter than expected, was hoping for completely fanless, but I'm not comfortable with this:

Cold boot temp was 35 CPU, 25 MB, but temp approached 65 CPU/ 45 MB when running 1080p video.

This is normal, considering it is a high powered GPU.
I read about a fanless Zotac board hitting 71C and no crashing problems.
Regardless, I threw a 120mm fan on the heatsink, which I cannot hear after setting to Silent in BIOS.

Motherboard reserves 512MB for itself, plus another 256-512MB for the GPU. So my OS reports only 3 of my 4GB, so make sure you have 2x2GB memory, else you'll end up with 1GB usable for the system.IMHO, This board is definitely a better value than Zotac's equivalent offering.

NVIDIA GT 440 GV-N440TC-1GI Video Card

Gigabyte has launches a new video record today that uses the NVIDIA GT 440 GPU. The new salutation is start product GV-N440TC-1GI and it is aimed at the lower-end of the gaming and technology spectrum. The lineup has both nice features and requires at small a 400W PSU.
Features of the greeting include 512MB of GDDR5 onboard with 1GB of TurboCache module tot. The set time of the video carte is 830MHz, the shader timepiece is 1660MHz, and the remembering timepiece is 3200MHz. The lineup supports DirectX 11 and has individual connectivity options.

Connectivity includes D-Sub, DVI, and HDMI outputs. The carte fits into a PCI-E 2.0 slot and has a 128-bit memory interface. TurboCache RAM uses several of the computers group retention to add many RAM for video use. The GPU uses 40nm application and supports PhysX, CUDA and more. Pricing and availability are unfamiliar.

NVIDIA Releases Beta Drivers Specified for Battlefield 3

NVIDIA has released beta drivers which have been coded with Battlefield 3 in mind. The drivers are named as GeForce R285.38 and are available immediately from NVIDIA's site. Supported products range from as old as the GeForce 6 series to the latest GeForce 500 series. 

The release comes at a good time since the open beta of Battlefield 3 will be available on Thursday 29th (27th if you pre-ordered through Origin). NVIDIA claims up to a 38% performance increase in Battlefield 3, as well as overall stability improvements. The beta drivers add better support for SLI configurations in a few other games too, such as Diablo III and Saints Row: The Third.

Review: Nvidia GeForce GTS 450

The Nvidia GeForce GTS 450 is in serious gamers' graphics card territory, without hitting the big prices.

Nvidia doesn't have a great lineup in the budget segment of cards, and anything lower than this here GeForce GTS 450 isn't really worth a look for those with any passing interest in frame rates. This venerable card does have some gaming chops to offer, and for the £81 cost it's a tough card to argue against.

The version we've tested is the standard reference version directly from Nvidia. That means it has no extras, no funky third-party cooling solution and definitely no factory overclock.

We've taken the price from the cheapest GTS 450 we've found available, and that's the version from Palit. It does come with a slightly different cooler, but the GPU itself is in reference trim.

Immediately you can feel the step up in performance terms with this gaming-oriented card. With DiRT 3 and Far Cry 2 we saw the card hit 32fps and 52fps respectively, and that's with 4x AA running at very playable speeds.

The Shogun 2 and Metro 2033 scores, though, are much lower, with the Shogun 2 score especially highlighting Nvidia's performance weakness with this title.

But for £80-odd you can't complain. You could drop this into any system and be hitting gaming speeds across most modern titles at the modest 1680 x 1050 resolution.

Should you not mind taking the performance hit, this card will also give you access to PhysX extras in game and 3D Vision, if you so wish. Realistically, the GF 106 GPU isn't powerful enough to really do either technology justice and still maintain playable frame rates. So in essence is more a check-box feature than a real selling point.

It's a well-engineered GPU, though, and stays relatively cool, even with the reference cooler at 100 per cent load. We measured it topping out at around 67C when it was constantly stressed at 100 per cent. It is, though, a rather power-hungry beast, pushing the system to 220W under load.

Nvidia win?

At this price both the Sapphire HD 5670 Ultimate and Sapphire HD 6670 Ultimate are quite simply blown out of the gaming paddling pool – neither can come close to this Nvidia card's performance.

Unfortunately that doesn't equate to a price point win for the green company, as AMD's lineup of budget GPUs still has more tricks up its sleeve.

The big problem for the Nvidia GeForce GTS 450 is the fact the HD 5770 is still on the market for the same price, and that last-gen DirectX11 GPU is still one of the best budget cards around.

Sadly then, for Nvidia at least, the GTS 450 still has no place to call its home. It's head and shoulders above the lower-end AMD cards, but there are still more impressive options available to us consumers for the same price.

Nvidia loses discrete graphics market share, still on top

The first quarter of the year saw some 19.03 million discrete graphics cards shipped worldwide, according to the latest numbers from Jon Peddie Research. This number represents a slight 0.2% increase over the 18.84 million recorded in Q4 2010 but was not enough to beat the year ago period. And though Nvidia remains the leader in unit shipments for the quarter, it actually saw a sequential drop of 2% from Q4, while AMD increased 5.7% during the same period.

In terms of market share, the green team now sits at 59.12%, dropping 1.65 percentage points from 60.77% last quarter and as much as 5.38 points from 64.50% in Q1 2010. Meanwhile, AMD went from 34.65% last year and 38.77% last quarter to 40.46% in Q1 2011. The company's upward trend is fueled by another successful Radeon series, which has been toe to toe with Nvidia's offerings when it comes to performance.

Note that these numbers only concern discrete graphics card shipments, which is why you don't see Intel listed in the chart above. JPR published results for combined discrete and integrated graphics shipments earlier this month, showing a 10.3% spike in shipments after a weak holiday quarter for the industry.

Intel led the pack controlling 54.4% of the market, well ahead of AMD's 24.8% cut. Nvidia further cemented its third-place position by dropping eight percentage points from the year ago quarter to 20%. The remaining portion was largely represented by Matrox and VIA/3, who had a combined share of 0.75%, while SiS was entirely off the map in Q1 2011.
