The superbly badly-kept secret of the LG Prada 3.0 phone is no more, as LG has sent out the press release for the new handset.
The LG Prada 3.0 (or the PRADA phone by LG 3.0, as the press release rather pretentiously calls it) is the third tie-in between the two brands, and comes with some pretty nifty specs.
The Prada 3.0 has a 4.3-inch NOVA display, which might not have the wow-factor of a Super AMOLED from Samsung, but does still offer superb brightness and a thin form factor, previously seen on the sadly-unloved LG Optimus Black.
Dual in the crownA 1GHz dual-core, dual-channel processor is on board too (presumably the same TI OMPA offering used on the LG Optimus 3D) and while it might not sound as flashy as the 1.5GHz CPUs being bandied around these days, it's unlikely to be lacking in grunt.
An 8MP camera is stuck on the back, which should be able to shoot up to 1080p video, and we've heard word NFC will be stuck somewhere under the hood too, although LG has yet to formally announce that.
Slinky powerBut it's not the specs that this phone will be sold on - it's the fashion house tag associated with it. To that end, Prada 'Saffiano' decoration adorns the back, a Prada docking station and Bluetooth headset, plus a 'fashionable Prada bag' too for the 8.5mm-slim handset.
There's also a customised Android overlay atop Google's Gingerbread OS - which LG has promised will be upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich in due course.
We've no official word on the LG Prada 3 UK release date, but we expect it to come pretty quickly, so Q1 2012 seems nailed on for the launch of the third iteration of the LG/Prada love in.
