Here, are few steps to wirelessly sync data between Android and computer. This is pretty much an extension of the last article I wrote on how to wirelessly sync photos between Android and computer. The steps and the Android app used in this one is the same as used in the earlier article.

We can wirelessly sync data between Android and computer. Below are some steps to wirelessly sync data between Android and computer by using Wi-Fi network.

Steps To Wirelessly Sync Data Between Android And Computer:

Step 1: Go to Android Market.

Step 2: Search for “AirDroid” app in the Market.

Step 3: Install the AirDroid app on your Android device.

Step 4: Now your Android device and Computer have to be connected over the same Wi-Fi network.

Step 5: Launch AirDroid app.

Step 6: Tap on “Start” option from the app on your Android.

Step 7: The app will display a web address on Android screen.

Step 8: Enter the web address given on your Favorite browser.

Step 9: The web version of AirDroid will ask you a password. Enter the password from your Android which is being displayed in the app.

Step 10: The web page of the browser will display your phone name along with the files option and other apps. Click on “Files” option on the web browser of your computer.

Step 11: As soon as you click on “Files” option from your computer, you will see all your SD card files and folders on your computer screen.

Step 12: Right click on the file or any folder and then click on export option to copy the file from Android to computer. For copying any file from computer to Android, just right-click anywhere on the blank space and then click on import option. For copying any file in any specific folder on Android, just open the folder and then right-click anywhere on the blank space and then click on import option.

Pretty easy to sync data using this Android app. So go ahead and give it a try.

IPhone 4S Highlights Gap Between IOS, Android

The iPhone 4S will debut on AT&T, Sprint and Verizon, heralding larger iOS sales, but Android remains a threat as wireless providers continue to support the platform.

Apple's long-awaited device will arrive October 14 on Sprint, besides AT&T and Verizon, opening up a third market for the Cupertino, Calif.-based company that may put iPhone sales through the roof.

IPhone 4S sales will likely get a boost once the fifth-generation device debuts on Sprint, much like when Verizon first got the iPhone 4 in February and ended AT&T's exclusivity. Verizon sold 2 million Apple handsets in the first quarter, tripling profits and winning over nearly 100,000 new customers.

Verizon's iPhone sales, in addition to AT&T's, helped keep Apple at the top of the smartphone market this year. As of August, Apple sold 20 million units and commanded as much of the mobile market share, nearly twice its hold from last year.

Apple's market share could rise even more if it sells 25 million iPhone 4S devices by year's end, as the Wall Street Journal predicts. Much of that growth may be on Sprint, with many consumers attracted by Sprint's unlimited data plan, though the carrier may rescind them if traffic becomes too great.

Apple's next-generation device will still see plenty of competition from Android phones, however, as all U.S. carriers continue to support handsets running Google's mobile OS. Android rose nearly 45 percent rise in the global smartphone market, up from around 17 percent last year.

T-Mobile, for example, is the only carrier without the iPhone 4S for a flagship device, and has chosen the Android-based Samsung Galaxy 2 and HTC Amaze instead as its flagship phones.

Apple is only one manufacturer, but its Android competitors comprise a long list of handset makers, from its biggest rival Samsung to HTC and Motorola, among others, which may account for Android's reach. Their hardware innovations provide customers with a range of options, compared to Apple's fixed design.

Android phones are also available for different prices, while Apple's remains a high-end handset unsuitable for those on a budget. For example, the iPhone 4S costs $200 for the 16-gigabyte version, $300 for double the storage and $400 for 64 gigabytes. The Android OS, however, is thriving on lower-end smartphones and prepaid plans, leaving no room for Apple in this growing market.

The iPhone 4S, then, stands to skyrocket in sales as it arrives on three of four major U.S. carriers, but will nevertheless have to contend with an increasing variety of Android competitors.

Differences Between Regedit and Regedit 32

Microsoft's Windows NT-based operating systems include two utilities for editing the registry, Regedit.exe and Regedt32.exe. While each performs essentially the same functions, there are subtle differences between the two that may have varying levels of importance depending on the specifics of your administrative computing needs. 

Compatibility with Different Versions of Windows

Regedit is available in all versions of Windows since Windows 95, while Regedt32 is only available in Windows NT, 2000, Windows XP, and Windows 2003. Also, Regedit is a 16-bit Windows application, while Regedt32 is a 32-bit Windows application.

Value Type Handling

Both Regedit and Regedit32 handle simple value types, such as REG_DWORD, REG_SZ and REG_BINARY. But Regedit32 also handles complex value types, such as REG_EXPAND_SZ, REG_MULTI_SZ, REG_RESOURCE_LIST,

REG_FULL_RESOURCE_DESCRIPTOR and REG_RESOURCE_REQUIREMENTS_LIST.

Importing and Exporting of Registry Files

Regedit allows for importing and exporting of text-based registry files, while Regedit32 permits only exporting of text-based registry files, but does support importing and exporting of binary registry files.

Executable File Location

The executable file location for Regedit is at %WinBootDir%, which is typically in the Windows directory on the "C:" drive. The executable file for Regedit32 is located at %SystemRoot%\System32, usually in the winnt\system32 directory on the "C:" drive.

Security

Regedit32 offers the option to support Read-Only and Permissions security modes, while Regedit has no security options.

Key and Value Searches

Regedit supports both key and value searches, but Regedit32 only permits key searches -- it does not allow value searches.

Windows 8 Syncs Settings Between Systems Using Windows Live ID

Today on the Building Windows 8 blog, Katie Frigon explains how user settings, Metro apps purchased through the Windows app store, and other data can be synced across Windows 8 devices using a Windows Live ID. 

When setting up a new or reloaded Windows 8 device, you're given an opportunity to sign in with a (or create a new) Windows Live ID. Windows will then create a user profile with that username, and can sync various settings including your lock screen picture, desktop background bookmarks and browser history, and various other settings to the cloud and between devices.

A new Control Panel gives users control over exactly what is synced, and IT administrators will also be able to determine whether users can link their domain accounts with Windows Live IDs (and the kinds of data the users can sync). Data synced to Microsoft's servers is encrypted using SSL/TLS, and that new devices associated with your Windows Live ID must be confirmed before they can access your sync data. The post also notes that local accounts and domain accounts can continue to function just as they always have, if desired.
